As a frequent traveler, I’m always on the hunt for ways to travel lighter without leaving behind my favorite comforts of home. Today’s quest was to craft a mini soap that is luxurious but built to last! On my last weekend trip, I took a fresh mini bar of goat’s milk soap. It felt amazing but the soft moisturizing qualities of a goat milk soap don’t hold up well when it can’t dry out properly. My little 0.5 oz mini was mostly gone after 3 showers. So today I created a harder bar - made almost entirely of butters (cocoa, kokum, mango and shea) with just a little liquid oil (apricot kernel, sunflower, and castor). It is scented with cinnamon and patchouli, and the chocolate swirl is made with cocoa powder. My hope is that this bar will feel great, cleanse well, but not melt away when travel doesn’t allow for proper soap storage. First challenge will be keeping me and the dogs from eating it, because it looks and smells like candy!
Want to help me test my theory? This one will be ready for sale on April 20th!
